Me
I studied Fine Arts at what's now called ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Kampen (now Zwolle), The Netherlands. They say an art study makes you an artist. Maybe they're right. I do paint and I design stuff. Does that make me an artist? Much of my inspiration comes from old punkrock flyers, worn paper and fabrics, broken stuff. I like my work to look unfinished, undesigned. Design by accident.
(...)I didn’t study graphic design. I left the design department after six months because the teachers (and students) there were too bound to rules in my opinion. Especially typography rules. As you may know a lot of Dutch designers and therefore design teachers are heavily influenced by the ‘less is more’ principle. Well, that’s not my cup of tea.

Another Two Kings project. Fietsen.123.nl is a new portal where you can find lots of information about bicycles, biking and bicycle tours in The Netherlands and Belgium. We combined more then ten weblogs to create this nice new website. And, of course, the new site is running on PivotX.

I made this poster/flyer for a 30 minutes multimedia live performance of Franz Kafka's 'Die Verwantlung' made by Noortje Licht. It's a theatre performance with live music, lots of video ad of course live actors.

A new website for PivotX.net, the blog cms. Made for Two Kings with Anke, Lodewijk and Peter.

Supermarket is actually my handwriting. Painted with Indian ink on paper, then scanned.
Supermarket consists of two ultra high resolution Photoshop CS3 files. Every character is a layer. You should use the Multiply function in Photoshop for the best results because I was too lazy to cut the characters perfectly. 
It's a free download. Have fun with it. I would appreciate it if you let me know if you used it for a project!

Sleeve design for For the Boatman, the first record of Oceana Company. The band sounds like Pink Floyd running on Motorpsycho speed. It's a great album released by Space Jam Records

Free scanned paper samples
I cleaned out some of my harddisks today and found some basic paper samples that I've used for various projects. They come in quite handy in combination with your multiply and overlay filters to give your artwork that worn, weathered, distressed effect. Some of the samples are co-created with Mirjam. Thank you!
You can download and use them for free. Have fun with it. Be creative!
Star Power
Not much to say about this one. I like it :) Originally designed for a client as a WP MU theme but they decided not to use it. I asked their permission to publish it myself and they agreed. Yay!
I included the PSD files for the header and the divider. This theme is ready to use the lifestreamwidget.
Update: Starpower updated to version 2.0. A lot of changes in the css.
- The theme is now fully compliant with W3C standards
- Lots of changes in the css file
- The files _sub_entry_header.html, sub_entry_sidebar.html and _sub_page_sidebar.html are no longer used

Punkd!
Punkd is the theme I built for my own website. I changed some things to make it more flexible and easier to use.
Punkd comes with 2 Photoshop files so you can change the header image and the scribbles in the background in Punkd style. I tried to document some stuff to make things easier for you. If you need help with installation, use the comment thingie below. Have fun!

Gluid
For Esc-Rec I made a no budget cd package for Binnensuis, a short theater play/dance performance. I used carboard boxes from the supermarket, spraypaint, indian ink, a sewing machine and an inktjet printer. I Thank the Flying Spaghettimonster for the skillfull hands of Harco Rutgers for helping me out on this one.

Logotype for Studentertainment. An organization run by students who organize concerts and other activities.
Digg 2 Column
Digg2Col is a two column theme. There's not much to say about it. I's a nice and simple theme.
If you use the Delicious widget, please use 'minimally styled' in the configuration settings in Pivot.
Quarles van Ufford
Check their record companies' comments:

The late great Quarles van Ufford released just one record before falling apart. And I did the artwork.
Fluid Solution
Fluid Solution is designed by Viktor Persson.
You can download the theme as a zipped file. I haven't tested it on IE6+7 yet but I don't think there are any problems. As soon as themes.pivotx.net is online you can downloaded the tested version.
Update (may 15 2008): I've made some adjustments to the searchbox and the comment editor. Now tested on IE6, IE7, Opera 9, Safari 3.1, FF 2 (Win XP) and Safari 3.1, FF 2, FF3 beta (Apple OS X)
Gone Bald
The fabulous Gone Bald's 8th album contains the cd with dvd (with 2 documentaries and live footage) and a 48 page book. The cover art is done by Hoff. I'm very proud of this one because Gone Bald is one of my favorite bands ever.
Haagse Bluf
A website for Haagse Bluf, a television production company founded by Dutch tv celebrity Bridget Maasland.
Retro Retry
It's about noise baby! Cool Dutch bands play Sonic Youth's Evol. This must be the best coveralbum ever. Check Retroretry.com for more information about the project.
't Ukien
't Ukien is a small rock/dance venue that needed a flexible, easy to recognize logotype. Instead of desiging all sorts of standard flyers, posters etc., I made a file with visual elements to combine and variate without losing their recognizable style.
Gone Bald
A logotype for Gone Bald, one of the best noiserock bands around. The logotype was used for posters and for the cd/dvd/book release 100 Ways to become cool.
Haagse Bluf
HaagseBluf is a television production company, founded by Dutch tv celebrity Bridget Maasland. The logotype had to contain an image of her dog, Tibbs. Here it is.
Blues Brother Castro
A website for Blues Brother Castro, probably Holland's hardest working rockband.
Noortje Licht
A website for Noortje Licht, a theatre company.
